I am late in updating the site and for that I apologize. The fight never happened. My opponent pulled out and so I was left without a fight. Disappointing to say the least. I ended up going to the fights anyway to make a promotional appearance and was treated to an exceptional show and was able to meet a lot of very nice fans of the sport. It was a humbling experience to be recognized for what I have done in my modest MMA career. I would like to thank Kristi and Mike for having me out to the fights and treating me so well. I would also like to thank everyone I met at the fights and the fans in attendance who came out to support this wonderful cause. Finally I would like to thank my sponsor for the event "Street Soldier". They know how to treat a fighter and have a great product. Please support them. Thank you. Rob

The fight on February 20th didn't go as planned. The bottom line is that I got caught with an elbow and a few knees and got KTFO'd. I refuse to offer any excuses for my poor performance. These things happen sometimes and my opponent got the better of me on that night. There is nothing else to say except that I need to use this loss as an experience to learn from and continue to progress as a fighter and as an athlete. All I can do is strive to get better and work harder than ever. Thank you to everyone who supported me in this and all my other endeavors. Know that it is appreciated.

Tonight was the official Weigh In for the Victory Fighting Championships. The champion Chuck "The Reverend" Grigsby and the challenger Rob "Maximus" MacDonald both made weight and it should be a great show tomorrow. Thank you to Esther Lin and Combat Lifestyle for the photo.
On February 20th I will be fighting Chuck Grigsby for the VFC World Light Heavyweight title. He is a highly skilled opponent with a great record and this will be a good test. I have been training hard for this and look forward to putting on a great show. Maximus...
I have been in Salt Lake City, Utah now for 2 months and I have fully recovered from a fully torn bicep tendon which happened right before my last fight with Hector Ramirez. There are no exact dates set for my next fight but by the end of the year I plan to defend my ROF title and compete in one or two more fights.
I have been busy training and have recently had the opportunity to work with Will Bernales at The Bernales Institute of Martial Arts and with the guys over at Unified. I have found a talented group of training partners and friends during my stay here and I am learning all that I can.
Under the watchful eye of my good friends and mentors here at Gym Jones my conditioning and mental outlook on competition have never been better. Each day with the help of Mark, Lisa, Johnny, John, Mike, James, Tony, Paul, Josh and the rest of t...

I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who assisted me in preparing for this fight. Even though the end result of the contest wasn't exactly what I wanted the fight taught me quite a bit. I truly believe that you are not a real fighter until you have been through a war. On March 29th I got that war. Even though I came away with a loss I am better for it. Hector Ramirez is a world class fighter and he pushed me to the brink. I wish him the best in his career and maybe we will meet up again. He is a highly skilled and honourable opponent and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire production that was put on by the Harcore Fighting Championships.

"There's nothing greater in the world than when somebody on the team does something good, and everybody gathers around to pat him on the back" - Billy martin.Mixed martial arts on the surface may seem like an individual sport however a deeper look reveals that a fighter is nothing without a great team surrounding him. I am fortunate enough to be blessed with such a team. The greatest part of this win for me is the opportunity to share it with those I love.Thank you my family,my friends and training partners.Thank you to those who taught me the values of excellence, integrity and sacrifice --Mother, Father, Michael, Claire, Bob, Lawrence,Virginia, Jonathan,Shah Franco, Brian Bynoe, Brian Cain, Gym Jones and of course Lisa Twight. This victory is yours more than mine. BROOMFIELD, Colo. - On a night of below-freezing temperatures at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Rob MacDonald re-emerged as a new fighter to wrest the Ring of Fire light heavyweight title away from fan favorite Eliot Marshall. Having taken more than a year off from competition, MacDonald spent that time reinventing himself as a fighter following a disappointing 1-2 stint in the UFC. "I rebuilt from scratch. I rebuilt myself from my last two losses," he said following the fight, giving all the credit to his trainers. Having struggled against strong ground fighters in the past, Marshall was supposed to be a tough task for MacDonald. To this point in his career, Marshall had gone undefeated (5-0) in mixed martial arts and is a nine-time Grappler's Quest champion. But it was the rebuilt Canadian fighter that ruled from th...
Sometimes the odds seem insurmountable. When I think of Team Hoyt I realize that nothing is impossible in this world. All you have to do is grab hold of your dreams and make them happen. I just wanted to share this story with everyone. It is the most courageous and beautiful thing I have ever seen. Nothing I have ever done in my life compares to what these two men have done. They truly are heroes.
